EVRR unwound

The uppermost level of the EVRR can be unwound so that the lower level plan is clearer. Over on the left there are several return loops. The bars mark where isolating rail joiners need to be inserted. I think I've got them all, but I'll look at it again in a few days with fresh eyes. If you see anything odd, please leave a comment.

  1. This plan sure was complicated for a man who didn't like wiring. But it was typical of its day. Imagine, he didn't even have an uninterrupted circle, just a bunch of return loops.

    1. Yeah. I was looking at a track plan of John Allen's first G&D layout and although it has a twisted figure-8 loop at its core, it's much simpler than the EVRR, more spread and relaxed, so I guess that's one of the things that made it atypical for it's time in comparison to layouts like the EVRR. But, the scenes the EVRR depicts are not primarily about work like much of the first G&D, but about leisure - an interesting difference.
